Lucy By Dan Erlewine
Lucy is a very special addition to the collection.
Dan built the original Lucy for blues great Albert King in 1970, and soon
afterwards turned his attention to repairing rather than building. Recently
Dan was bitten again by the “Build Bug” and agreed to build
this exquisite duplicate. Amazingly, Dan kept the extra Black Walnut from the batch he used
to make Albert’s in storage all these years, and used it to craft
this Lucy. Like Albert’s, all binding is alternating layers of Flame
Maple & Rosewood; Fret
position inlay is Mother of Pearl
with Green Heart Abalone on a Curly Brazilian fingerboard, Burl
Walnut headstock overlay with Indian Rosewood pickguard.
